CONSTRUCTION OF NEW WORLD CLASS CANCER TREATMENT CENTRES TO START – PM PETER O’NEILL

Peter O’Neill during radio interview this week at NBC SAID PNC would extend its commitment to the national government’s vision in building world-class cancer treatment centres in the country.
“Our party is committed now at our convention. We will build to new cancer centres, fully equipped, brand new cancer centres starting in 2018. One in Port Moresby, one in Lae,” he said.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill also said PNC was committed to to building two new TB resistant specialist wards in Daru and Kerema to manage the prevalence of TB along the Western and Gulf Provinces.
“We have committed to building two new TB resistant wards, specialists wards, one in Daru and one in Kerema to counter the ever increasing TB prevalence particularly drug resistant TB prevalence in those two communities. And all the seven major hospitals throughout the country that is from Wewak, Madang, Lae, Kokopo, Mount Hagen, Kundiawa, Goroka and Port Moresby.
He said health was a priority in the country and that it was vital for PNC to further extend its commitment on helping kidney patients in the country by buying 7 new dialysis machines for the main hospitals in the country.
“We will bring seven dialysis centres for our patients who have got kidney issues. This is because these are the three of four biggest killers of our people in the country. We must immediately as an emergency take charge of building this over the next few years and that is a commitment that we have made and you know when PNC makes a commitment, we will deliver, “ he said.
