ABEL LAUNCHES NATIONAL TRADE POLICY

Deputy Prime Minister Charles Abel said the country is currently facing fundamental changes in attitudes and perceptions towards international trade and globalization due to many contributing factors.
He said the official announcement for the National Trade policy by Trade, Commerce, and Industry Department is a welcome news for the country to move forward in terms of trading with international partners. He said this will help the country in re-positioning the concept of trade with our trading partners internationally. The trade policy will help the country takes advantage in changes in global trend for trading.
Deputy Prime Minister also said the policy will also provide pathway for Small Medium Enterprises to benefit.
He said through this policy, government will progress to secure predictable market access for its products by doing a well research, evidence-based, compatible trade agreement with international partners.
He said partnership bonding between international partners will includes Papua New Guinea’s businesses and workers, which will definitely includes the SME’s in the country.
Deputy Prime Minister on behalf of the Prime Minister acknowledged inputs from everyone who have successfully contributed in making the National Trade Policy a success for the country.
