IEA College Graduates 300

More than 200 students from the International Education Agency (IEA) College of TAFE, Ela Beach campus, graduated last Friday.
Students graduated from various courses, including business administration, accounts administration, accounting, information technology and commercial cookery.
The graduation was attended by parents, relatives and friends of the graduating students.
IEA TAFE manager, Chris Jones, who gave the opening address, congratulated the students and stressed the importance of knowledge.
“You have to think ahead of what the future holds for you. You have acquired the knowledge and skills that the employers need and importantly, continue to learn wherever you are,’’ Mr Jones said.
Information and Communication Technology Authority chief executive officer, Charles Punaha, said through the guidance and assistance of the trained professional staff and the excellent training facilities, private vocational education and professional training colleges play significant role in preparing young people with the relevant skills, attitudes, and knowledge required in the working environment.
IEA provides training based on international best practices and encourages industry standards and requirements.
‘’I am confident that your time at the IEA College of TAFE has provided you with the theoretical knowledge and the qualifications and laid foundation to equip you to face the challenge ahead,’’ Mr Punaha said.
He urged the graduating students to be dedicated and committed in their career.
“Success in your chosen career requires discipline and sacrifices, and you have proven that in the completion of your studies.”
“Perseverance and diligently attending to your assigned duties and responsibilities will result in having a successful and rewarding career in your real jobs,’’ he said.
“With the quality training IEA TAFE provides, employers will feel confident to employ you.
It’s never too young or too old for education. Education is a lifelong investment in your future.”
